Our first speaker for 2023 is Lael Stone.
Lael’s passion is supporting parents to better understand their children, helping adults process their own childhood trauma, and creating education systems that value emotional awareness.

Lael Stone is an educator, TEDx speaker, author, mother, and parenting counsellor who has worked with families for over 20 years. As a birth educator, post-natal trauma counsellor and parenting educator, she has helped thousands of families and she spent more than five years in secondary schools working with teens around sexuality, well-being and relationships. Her great aim is to empower parents to build connections and stronger relationships with their children.
Lael is the co-creator of Woodline Primary School, an innovative new school focused on emotional well-being and connection. She co-hosts The Aware Parenting podcast and is a sought-after public speaker who talks candidly about her own experiences as a parent and about creating wellness in families through connection and communication. As well as sitting on advisory boards and consulting with organisations about emotional awareness and trauma-informed practices, Lael has joined The Resilience Project to deliver presentations across Australia about raising resilient children. Her first book ‘Raising Resilient and Compassionate Children’ has just been released.
Lael is the mother of three big kids – teenagers and young adults – and she is currently putting her research into practice with them!
