Rebecca Gilbert
Rebecca followed her passion for learning and working with young children by pursuing a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) at Australian Catholic University. She has come the full circle and now works as a Cycle 2 teacher at Melbourne Montessori School at the same campus she attended as a student. “My love of being with children probably started during my Montessori education. As a student, I loved being taught by older peers and helping younger ones. It taught me patience and independence, and instilled in me a sense of community and belonging. I realised teaching in a mainstream school was not for me and knew there were other ways of learning.”
Rebecca worked as a Cycle 1 Assistant at MMS for several years whilst gaining her Montessori qualifications and taking her own class.
